The ex-USS Peleliu was once a primary ship from which Ospreys operated during amphibious exercises, underscoring how tightly the platform is woven into Marine expeditionary doctrine.

A Production Run Measured in Conflicts and Controversies

The MV-22B entered fleet service and was subsequently deployed across every major operational theater the Marine Corps entered over the past two decades, from Iraq and Afghanistan to Africa and the Pacific. With procurement complete, the Osprey program transitions fully into a sustainment and upgrade posture. The Marine Corps has been working to integrate improvements in avionics, survivability systems, and reliability — efforts that will determine how long the current fleet remains operationally competitive.
